Piston and Connecting Rod
Assembly
1. Install a new snap ring into one side of the
piston pin snap ring grooves
(Figure 5-132, (1)).

2. Slowly heat the piston to about 80°C (176°F)
(Figure 5-133).

3. Apply engine oil to the piston pin.
4. Align the marks of the piston and connecting
rod and press the piston pin in by hand
(Figure 5-134).

5. Install a new snap ring into the piston pin snap
ring groove on the opposite side of the piston
(Figure 5-135, (1)).

6. Manually install the coil for the oil piston ring
(Figure 5-136).
