REMOVING THE BALANCER AND
CRANKSHAFT ASSEMBLY

1. Remove:

• balancer
• crankshaft assembly

CHECKING THE CRANKSHAFT

1. Check:

• lock pin

• compression spring

• plunger seal

Damage/Wear/Locking

-->

Replace.

2. Measure:

• crankshaft alignment

Out of specification

-->

Replace the

crankshaft, the bearing or both of them.

Turn the crankshaft slowly.

NOTE:

3. Measure:

• connecting rod side clearance

Out of specification

-->

Replace the

connecting rod bearing or the crankshaft pin.

4. Measure:

• crankshaft width

Out of specification

-->

Replace the

crankshaft.

Crankshaft width

69.25 ~ 69.30 mm
(2.7264 ~ 2.7283 in)

Connecting rod side clearance

0.350 ~ 0.650 mm (0.013 ~ 0.026 in)

CRANKSHAFT AND CRANKCASES

• Remove the crankshaft along with the crankshaft

extractor

• Tighten the crankhaft extractor bolts until the end.
• Make sure the extractor shaft is aligned with the

crankshaft.

NOTE:

Crankshaft maximum misalignment

0.030 mm (0.0012 in)
