ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (FJR1300A)

[D-3] Maintenance of the front wheel sensor
and sensor rotor
• ABS wheel sensor and sensor rotor

CAUTION:

• Handle the ABS components with care

since they have been accurately adjusted.
Keep them away from dirt and do not sub-
ject them to shocks.

• The ABS wheel sensor cannot be disas-

sembled. Do not attempt to disassemble
it. If faulty, replace with a new one.

• Removing the front wheel sensor

1. Remove:

• brake hose holder

• front wheel sensor lead holder

• brake caliper

• front wheel sensor

CAUTION:

• Be sure not to contact the sensor elec-

trode to any metal part when removing
the front wheel sensor from the sensor
housing.

• Do not operate the brake lever when

removing the brake caliper.

• Checking the front wheel sensor and sen-

sor rotor

1. Check:

• front wheel sensor

Cracks/bends/distortion

→

Replace.

Iron powder/dust

→

Clean.
