ADSL2+ Tester fully supports both IP address ping and domain name ping with the
following protocols: Ethernet over ATM (RFC 1483 Bridge), Classical IP over ATM (RFC
1577 Bridge), PPP over ATM (RFC 2364) and PPP over Ethernet (RFC 2516). In displays,
IP
or
URL
can be selected with
“
DST
”
setting. When
URL
is selected, the domain name of
website such as
www.163.com
can be directly input as the Ping destination.
The parameters for settings are different from protocols selected. Before making WAN
PING testing, log-on and authentication by ISP are needed. So WAN PING is always used
to confirm the connectivity from the ADSL modem, DSLAM and Internet.
