Component Tests
There are four types of component tests:
•
MOTOR SPEED. This test uses Test Pattern 82E11490 to make
corrections to the base motor speed. The pattern is stored inside the
document feed shelf on the Scanner, and should be returned there after
use. This alignment is used to correct magnification errors in the
scanned image along the axis of the process direction.
•
REGISTRATION. This test uses a black A (A4) size piece of paper as a
test pattern. The alignment corrects for timing errors in the actuation of
the Edge Present Sensor and the Edge Registered Sensor. Perform this
test if the lead edge is not positioned over the clear aperture of the
Platen Glass after the Scanner has transported the document to the
starting position.
•
INPUT. This test checks the electrical operation of the two edge
sensors and the FORWARD/REVERSE switch.
•
OUTPUT. This test checks the operation of the Exposure Lamp and the
Drive Motor.
These tests are further explained in the following pages.
