Scanner Diagnostics (continued)

Download Code

The DOWNLOAD CODE selection is used to load software updates into the
7346/7356 Scanner. Use this option when Xerox has supplied you with a
software upgrade on a floppy disk. You may also use this option to
determine the software version currently installed in the Scanner.

Note:

This option is NOT for installing software upgrades for the Controller. Please
refer to the instructions that came with the Controller software for installation
instructions.

CAUTION

Once the reading of the disk has begun, the upgrade process
must be allowed to complete. Do not allow any interruption
of power to either the Scanner or the Controller during the
upgrade process. Otherwise, the Control PWB in the
Scanner will be damaged and require replacement.

When the DOWNLOAD CODE selection is made, the DOWNLOAD CODE
screen is displayed. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the
software upgrade. When requested, insert the floppy disk into the disk drive
on the Controller.

When the process is complete, the version numbers in the CURRENT and
DISK fields will be the same.

Press the Exit key to leave the DOWNLOAD CODE screen.
