System Administration (continued)
Once the correct password has been entered and accepted, the user may
perform any protected function in the SYSTEM ADMINISTRATION area.
The main SYSTEM ADMINISTRATION screen is displayed:
Press the Next key or the Previous key until the desired choice is
highlighted. Then, press the Enter key to confirm the choice.
Changing the Password

Lost Password
The default password, set on all newly delivered machines, is 0 (zero). The
system operator should change this password, using the CHANGE
PASSWORD menu item. To change the password, the operator must know
the existing password.
If the existing password has been lost, call for service. The customer
service engineer will reset the password to the default value of 0. The
system operator should then change the password to a different value
selected by the operator.
Note: changing the system administrator password on the DDS User
Interface also changes the system administrator password for the Printer.
These two passwords always have the same value.
Job accounting
Selecting JOB ACCOUNTING provides direct access to the JOB
ACCOUNTING menu. From there, the accounting system may be
configured, and reports may be generated.

File System
FILE SYSTEM allows the user to perform the following file operations on
images scanned to the hard disk in SCAN mode:

LIST BY ACCOUNT
−
display a list of the scanned files, organized by
the account under which they were scanned. If Job Accounting is
disabled, only information accrued in the system accounts is available.
•
DELETE
IMAGES
−
Delete the last image scanned under the active
account. Each time this feature is invoked, the most current image
remaining in the account is deleted.
•
DELETE ALL IMAGES
−
Delete all images currently stored under the
active account.
Note: if Job Accounting is disabled, the operations are performed on files
present in System Account 0.1.
SCAN mode is an option on the 8825 DDS. If SCAN mode has not been
enabled, the FILE SYSTEM information is not available. To order this
feature, contact your Xerox representative.
