5.4.4. Modem Port Configuration

To conﬁgure the Modem Port, go to the Port Selector Menu (Main Menu,

item 22), and select item 5. The Modem Port Conﬁguration Menu will

appear as shown in Figure 5.8. The following options are available:

Communication Settings:

Baud Rate:

Selects the baud rate for this port; any standard rate from

1200 to 115.2K bps.

(Default = 57600.)

Bits/Parity:

Selects Bits/Parity for this port; 8-None, 7-Even, 7-Odd,

or 7-None.

(Default = 8-None.)

Stop Bits:

Selects stop bits for this port.

(Default = 1.)

Handshake Mode:

Selects the ﬂow control mode for this port; XON/

XOFF (Software), RTS/CTS (Hardware), both, or None.

(Default = RTS/CTS.)

Reset String:

Deﬁnes the modem reset message. (Up to 16

characters;

Default = ATZ.

)

Initialize String:

Deﬁnes the modem initialization string. (Up to 32

characters;

Default =

ATE0M0Q1&C1&D2S0=1.

)

Hang-Up String:

Deﬁnes the modem hang-up string. (Up to 32

characters;

Default = undeﬁned.

)

Reset Modem:

Resets the internal modem.
