LIMBING AND PRUNING
- WARNING:
Always watch out for kickback and protect yourself from it. Never allow the moving chain on
the top of the guide bar to come into contact with other branches or objects when pruning or sawing. Such
contact can cause serious injury.
- WARNING:
Climb the tree when pruning or limbing. Do not stand on ladders, platforms, etc., as you may
lose balance and control of the equipment.
Important notes
- Work slowly and hold the saw firmly with both hands. Ensure a safe standing position and balance.
- Watch out for springs. Be very careful when cutting small branches. Flexible material can get caught in the
saw chain and bounce towards you, or upset your balance.
- Watch out for springs. This is especially true for branches that are bent or under pressure. Avoid contact
with a branch or saw when there is tension in the wood.
- Keep your work area clean. Keep the path free of branches to avoid tripping.
Limbing
- Limbing is removing branches from a fallen tree.
- Leave the larger branches under the fallen tree and use them as support as you continue to work.
- Start at the bottom of the fallen tree and continue upwards. Remove smaller parts of the tree by sawing
in the direction of growth.
- Keep the tree between you and the saw.
- Remove larger, supporting branches using the methods described in the section "Bucking without
support".
- Always cut live branches from the bottom up so that the saw does not get caught.
- Always cut off small and loose branches with one cut. When undercutting, they could fall and push the
saw.
Pruning
- WARNING:
Leave the remains of the branches or saw them from below only at shoulder level. Never cut
off branches above shoulder height. Leave such work to an expert.
- Make the first cut to 1/3 at the bottom of the branch.
- Then cut the second part through the whole branch. The third part is the general part, which allows to
separate the branch at 2.5 to 5 cm from the trunk.
SAWING ON A
SLOPE
- When sawing on a slope, make sure you always stand higher than the trunk of the tree. To maintain
complete control at the time of "sawing", reduce the pressure towards the end of the cut without releasing
the firm grip on the chainsaw handles.
- CAUTION:
The saw chain must not come into contact with the ground. When sawing is complete, wait until
the saw chain has stopped before removing the chain saw. Always switch off the chain saw when moving
from one tree to another.
MAINTENANCE
-
WARNING! Risk of injury.
Remove the plug from the socket before performing any maintenance operation.
- WARNING!
Maintenance and repair work other than that specified in these operating instructions may only
be carried out by an authorized service center.
- If the power cord is damaged, have it replaced by an authorized service center in order to avoid a hazard.
- Safety and operational reliability can only be guaranteed when using original spare parts.
- After each use, clean the chain saw of sawdust and oil with a brush and cloth. Make sure that the motor
vents on the covers are clear (danger of overheating)
- Do not use aggressive chemicals, abrasives, etc. for cleaning. This could damage the saw.
