Appropriate precautionary measures, which we describe in the following text, can be prevented:
•
Hold the chain saw firmly with both hands, with your thumbs and fingers wrapping around the
chainsaw handles. Put your body and hands in a position where you can best withstand the forces of
kickback. If appropriate measures are taken, the operator can handle the force of the kickback. Never
release the chain saw.
•
Avoid abnormal body positions and do not cut higher than your shoulders length. This prevents
unintentional contact with the tip of the guide bar and allows better control of the chain saw in
unexpected situations.
•
Only use spare guide bars and saw chains specified by the manufacturer. Improper replacement guide
bars and saw chains can cause the chain to break or cause a kickback.
•
Follow the manufacturer's instructions for grinding and maintaining the saw chain. Depth limiters
that are too low increase the possibility of kickback.
Important instructions for your personal safety:
1) Instructions for safe operation of the chain saw:
-
WARNING!
A chain saw can be dangerous if not used in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
It is important that the user reads this instruction manual and understands the instructions.
- Always store your power tool safely. Unused power tools should be stored in a dry and elevated place, or
locked, out of the reach of children.
- Check the extension cord regularly and replace if necessary. Make sure that the handles are always dry and
not oiled or smeared.
- Before each use, check the power cord for damage. If it is, have it replaced by an authorized service center
to avoid danger.
- When working, you must operate the chain saw with both hands.
- The chain saw must be disconnected from the power supply before tightening the chain, replacing it or
rectifying the fault - remove the electrical plug from the socket!
- During work breaks, store the electric chain saw so that it does not endanger anyone. Unplug the electrical
plug!
- When switching on, you must securely support the chain saw and hold it firmly. The chain and bar must be
free.
- If the power cord is damaged or cut, unplug it immediately.
- When using an extension cable on the drum, the cable must always be completely unwound.
- Make sure that the cable is not kinked or damaged.
- The chain saw may only be started completely assembled. No protective parts must be missing.
- If you notice changes on the tool, switch off the chain saw immediately.
- Always have a first aid kit ready for possible injuries.
- If the chain saw comes in contact with earth, stones, nails or other foreign objects, please pull the plug out
of the socket immediately and check the chain and bar.
- Make sure that no oil from the chain enters the soil or sewers.
- Always place the chain saw on a mat, as some oil may always drip from the bar or chain.
- Do not use the chain saw in bad weather conditions, especially when there is a risk of storm.
2) Instructions due to the risk of kickback:
- If possible, use a goat for sawing.
- Always look at the tip of the bar.
- Start the cut only with the saw chain running, never switch on the electric chain with the chain attached.
- The so-called grooving cuts using the bar tip may only be carried out by trained personnel.
3) Instructions for safe work technique:
- Working on ladders, scaffolding or trees is prohibited.
- Secure the wood so that it cannot turn during sawing.
- Be careful of split wood to avoid injury.
