- Use power tools, accessories, work tools, etc. in accordance with these instructions and in the manner
prescribed for the particular power tool, taking into account the working conditions and the type of work
performed. Using the tool for purposes other than those for which it is intended can lead to dangerous
situations.
5) SERVICE:
- Have the power tool serviced by a qualified repair person. Only the same spare parts may be used. This
will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR ELECTRIC CHAIN SAW
- Make sure that you have all parts of your body at a safe distance from the saw chain when working with
the saw. Before starting the saw, make sure that the saw chain does not touch anything. When working with
a
chain saw, a small moment of distraction can cause clothing or any part of the body to be caught by the
chain saw.
- Always hold the chain saw with you right hand on the rear handle and with your left hand on the front
handle. Keeping the chain saw in an inverted working position increases the risk of injury and must not be
used.
- Always hold the electric chain saw only by the insulated surfaces of the handles, as the saw chain may come
into contact with a hidden power line or its own power cord. Contact of the saw chain with live power lines
can also energize metal parts of the tool, which can cause electric shock.
- Wear safety goggles and ear protection. We also recommend using other protective equipment to protect
your head, hands, feet and soles. Appropriate protective clothing reduces the risk of injury from flying chips
and the consequences of accidental contact with the saw chain.
- Do not work with a chainsaw on a tree. There is a risk of injury when working with a chain saw on a tree.
- Make sure you always have a firm stance and only use the chain saw when standing on a firm, safe and level
surface. Slipping ground bases or unstable standing surfaces such as ladder work can cause loss of balance
or lead to loss of control of the chain saw.
- When cutting a branch that is taut, expect it to spring back. When this tension of the wood fibers is released,
the tensioned branch can hit the operator and / or pull the chain saw out of control.
- Use extreme caution when cutting shrubs and young trees. This thin material could get caught in the chain
saw and hit you or get you out of balance.
- Carry the chain saw by holding the front handle and always off so that the saw chain is facing away from
your body. Always wear a protective cover when transporting or storing the chain saw. Careful handling of
the chain saw reduces the likelihood of unintentional contact with the running chain saw.
- Follow the instructions for lubrication, chain tensioning and changing accessories. Improperly tensioned or
lubricated saw chain may break or increase the risk of kickback.
- Keep the handles dry and clean and make sure there is no oil or grease on them. Greasy, oily handles are
slippery and cause loss of control of the tool.
- Only use the electric chain saw to saw wood. Never use an electric chain saw for work for which it is not
intended (e.g. for cutting plastics, masonry or building materials that are not made of wood). Using the chain
saw for work for which it is not intended can lead to dangerous situations.
Reasons and prevention of kickback:
- Kickback can occur when the tip of the guide bar touches an object or when the wood bends and the chain
saw locks in the cut.
- Such contact with the saw tip can in many cases result in an unexpected backward reaction, in which the
guide bar is thrown upwards towards the operator.
-Catching the saw chain on the upper edge of the guide bar can throw the bar sharply towards the operator.
- Each of these reactions can result in you losing control of the saw, which could result in serious injury. Do
not rely solely on the safety features that are part of the chain saw design. As a chainsaw user, you should
take various precautions to work without injury or wounds. Kickback is the result of incorrect and wrong use
of power tools.
