Main Menu
The Main menu contains basic configuration
information.
Date and Time sets the system date (Day, Month, Year) and time (Hour,
Minute, Second).
Shared Memory allows you to set the size of video memory allocated from
the installed system RAM. The available options are 8M, 16M, and 32M . The
default value is 32M .
Boot Device sets the first, second, third, and fourth boot devices. The system
will try to boot from the first device but if it is not available, will try the next
boot device and so on. If you set the first boot device to
PXE LAN , the system
will boot from LAN server first. The default value is Diskette A, Hard Disk C,
CD-ROM Drive, and PXE LAN .
Note: If you set all boot options to the same device the system will only try
to boot from that device.
Security Menu
The Security menu contains security settings
which safeguard your system against
unauthorized use when enabled.
Boot Password allows you to set a password for accessing your system. Type
the password in the entry field and press
Enter
. Confirm your password by
typing it again and press
Enter
. If the
Enable Password to Power-on
sub-item is enabled, the saved password is always required to boot the system.
Hard Disk Boot Sector will cause a warning message to appear if the system
detects an attempt to modify the boot sector (partition table). A checkmark (
✓
)
indicates enabled while underline (_) indicates disabled. The default value is
disabled.
Caution: Set this item to disabled before installing an operating system, running
Fdisk or formatting the drive. Otherwise, the intended action will fail.
