How to Set the Solar Calculation Method

Song Meter can be used to schedule recordings relative to sunrise and sunset

times, and adjusts these times as they change during the year. You can choose

from four different recognized methods of calculating the sunrise and sunset.

At the

Song Meter Main Menu

: The sun is 18 degrees below the horizon.

The calculated sunrise and sunset times for the method that you select appear
as if they were occurring today. For example:

How to set the Minimum Battery Voltage

The Power Volt Cutoff setting allows you to specify a minimum voltage from 0.0

to 12.0 volts in 0.1 volt increments. If voltage falls below this value in a 24-hour

period, the program is suspended.
This allows a minimum voltage to be set such that certain types of external

batteries such as some types of lead acid batteries will not be damaged by over-

discharge. This should not be used with internal alkaline batteries. These batteries

are not rechargeable and are not damaged by complete discharge. Adding a

minimum voltage with these types of batteries will result in decreased battery life

as the recorder will suspend operation prematurely.
