3.4 Risks in hazardous areas
Observe the information given in the type examination certificate and the country-specific
regulations for installation and use in hazardous areas (e.g. IEC 60079-14, NEC, CEC). If
this is not observed, serious injuries and damage could occur.
Do not commission any damaged instruments within hazardous areas. Damaged instru-
ments cannot reliably guarantee any explosion protection. Obvious damage must be
reported immediately.
3.5 Handling of hazardous media
For hazardous media such as oxygen, acetylene, flammable or toxic gases and liquids
and refrigeration plants, compressors, etc., in addition to all standard regulations, the
appropriate existing codes or regulations must also be followed.
Residual media in the dismounted process transmitter can result in a risk to personnel,
the environment and equipment. Take sufficient precautionary measures.
