Creating the hardware configuration
Create the graphic representation of your automation system.
Example: Controller from the S7-300 range: CPU 315-2 DP
The hardware catalog appears from which you select
components in order to assemble the S7 controller.
Select a DIN rail (RACK-300) and a power supply unit (PS-300).
Select the controller S7-CPU (CPU 315-2 DP).
When this CPU is selected, a dialog box appears in which you
must specify a PROFIBUS network (see diagram on right-hand
side).
Enter the bus address of the DP master. The DP master is
already integrated in the PLC that you have selected and
requires an address as do all the other devices.
In the ”Subsystem” dialog, you define the basic physical data of
the PROFIBUS DP network as you wish to use it. Press the
”New” button and select the baud rate that is to be used. A
subsystem is defined when you exit this dialog.
