5. SYSTEM TEST
To verify that the system functions correctly, charge and discharge tests must be carried out by simulating the day/night
and night/day switch conditions and varying the power of the loads on the utility.
It is necessary to carry out the test during the day and with good sunlight.
Carry out the test by checking: the values indicated on the Leonardo display (see image below); the values on the other
components that may be present (e.g. meters or charge controllers); the status of the battery LEDs.

5.1. Photovoltaic Production/Battery Charging
Switch on the photovoltaic plant and check that:
•
the charge indicator is enabled;
•
the power of the photovoltaic system is correctly detected on the display (refer to §4. INTEGRATED DISPLAY). In
particular:
−
if the system is in AC configuration, check that the production on the grid inverter and meter P1 are identical
to those shown on the display;
−
if the system is in DC configuration, check the production directly on the charge regulator displays;
•
the battery is charging if consumption is lower than production. Also check the status of the battery LEDs.
5.2. Battery Discharge
To perform the battery discharge test, wait until the discharge indicator is enabled. Switch off the photovoltaic system
and check that:
•
the battery starts to discharge to deliver energy to the loads (check also the status of the battery LEDs);
•
grid withdrawals are minimised.
5.3. Load Tests
Under normal operating conditions, turn on a load with power greater than 2400W. Check that the inverter performs
peak shaving
, i.e. that the excess power in relation to the machine capacity is drawn from the AC grid.
5.4. Blackout Simulation (Only if the AC-OUT output is used).
In normal operating conditions and discharge indicator enabled, disconnect AC-IN (simulate a blackout) and check the
continuity of service on the utility.
Check that the AC-IN symbol flashes on the display (no mains input).
Remember to carry out the test with a load limited to the power of the inverter (otherwise, the Leonardo may block due
to an overload).
