6.0 Electrical components
6.1 Drive unit
The engines for the adjustment of the backrest and the leg rest are collocated in the drive unit as well
as the control unit. The control unit includes a transformer and a transformer rectifier, where the power
supply voltage of 230 V; 50 Hz is transformed into an extra-low voltage of 24 V DC (direct current).
Do not operate all engines simultaneously!
All engines and the manual control switch are driven by this extra-low voltage in order to prevent
accidents.
An adjusting time of 2 minutes maximum with a subsequent resting period of 18 minutes must
not be exceeded
On non-observance of the indicated adjusting time the power supply is switched off by a thermo
security device (thermo switch) – in case of overheating of the servo motors due to continuous
operation (i.e. playing). After a cooling-down period of approximately 1 hour the power supply is
switched on again automatically.
6.2 Height adjustment motors
Trendelenburg positioning (special equipment – not included in delivery of
standard version!)
This adjustment of the health care bed should only be executed on medical advice. Before
adjusting the health care bed in this shock position it is absolutely necessary to lift the side-
rails to their highest position.
