Removing the RAM Card could erase its contents, so do not remove it without good reason.
Usually this will be done at Network Control direction. Once addressed, the card is not-
transferrable. There should be no reason to remove this card.
If Muzak NOC tells you to replace your Ram Card, you can quickly do so by following these
instructions:
1.
Remove power from the Diamond DX unit by unplugging the power cord from the rear
panel plug labeled “DC IN.”
2.
Push in on the release lever on the edge of the Ram Card Slot. This should slide the card
out of its slot.
3.
Carefully pull the card out of the slot and put it aside.
4.
Line up the replacement card and carefully insert it into the slot. Gently, but firmly, press
it into place. When it is properly inserted, the push-button release will be pushed fully
out of its slot.
5.
Insert the power-cord plug back into its jack (See step # 2).
6.
Reposition the Diamond Unit and observe that it seems to be working normally.
7.
Make sure that the unit output cable is plugged into the correct Audio Output jack.
Your unit should now be returned to normal operation and music should be playing from the
speakers. Any problem caused by a failed PC Flash Ram Card should be resolved, except that no
recorded ads will play until:
1.
The real time clock is updated. This should happen automatically via the broadcast data
signal.
2.
The Ram Card is formatted. Muzak Network Control will cause this to happen after you
call them.
3.
Network ads are re-recorded. This should happen during the next “nonuse” period after
you notify Muzak Network Control (See Sec. 2-4, page 2-3.) that you have replaced the
Ram Card.
4.
You will also need to re-record any local ads that you want in the system, and let Network
Control know their locations and required frequency of play, etc.
