1.6 UNIT CONTROLS
Some functions may be done only by Network Control, some only by local users, and some may
be done by either. Local control must be enabled by Network Control before you can perform
most local functions. It is disabled at initial power-up, so you must notify Network Control at
installation. See Figure 3-3, page 3-3, for a map of the control structure menus.
1.6.1 Network Control
Most unit functions may be controlled only by the remote satellite network. Though you cannot
perform these functions, this list may be helpful in understanding how your unit operates, and
what is happening in some situations.
The following functions may be commanded by network control. This is done via the command
stream, which is separated from the audio input signal by the Satellite Audio Receiver, and sent
to the Diamond unit SERIAL CONTROL Port.
1. Format a new PC card
2. Display message to unit front-panel LCD
3. Load/maintain unit real-time clock
4. Set time zone offset
5. Set Daylight Savings Time observance
6. Set unit serial number
7. Setup/maintain group memberships
8. Set recording mode
9. Set playback and music pass-thru volumes
10. Enable/disable fades and set fade in/out times
11. Record a spot from AUDIO IN port
12. Delete any/all spots
