With a small screwdriver, loosen the ‘Mute Alarm’ and ‘Gnd’ screws until the wires can
slide into the slots above the screws. Make sure the red wire is inserted into the slot
labeled ‘Mute Alarm’ or ‘Alrm’ and the black wire is inserted into the ‘Gnd’ slot.
Tighten both screws until the wires are held securely. Do not overtighten. Compare your
installation with that shown in Figures 2-1 and 2-3.
6. Plug the power jack from the DC Power Supply to the plug labeled “DC IN.” Plug the
DC Power Supply into the power outlet. See the Caution Below. NOTE: This unit
needs to be powered up 24 hours a day to ensure the reception of all commands. If
muting or volume changes are required by the customer, contact Muzak NOC for
schedule altering.
7. Your installation should now be complete. See the Setup section which follows. If there
is a problem, call Muzak NOC for assistance.
* * * CAUTION * * *
The Diamond unit uses a relatively small amount of power (See Table 1-1,
page 1-6.), but you should be careful not to overload your electrical circuitry.
If you do, fire, unit failure, or other damage may occur.
2.4 SETUP
Once you have the Diamond Unit connected as detailed above, you should have audio output as
normal. After you notify the Muzak NOC of successful setup, they will start your real-time
clock, put your unit into any applicable Ad Group(s), and will text your setup. They will also
enable local control for designated locations. See Section 3 for details of front panel control.
NOTE: The unit is shipped with certain default conditions in its memory. See Section 1.4.2 for
a list of these conditions.
