Cleaning the Air Cleaner Assembly

When

Clean the air cleaner assembly every 50 hours of operation.

Prerequisite

Engine is stopped and cool to the touch

Description

The air cleaner assembly consists of a foam insert housed inside the air cleaner 
body. 

Procedure

Follow the procedure below to clean the air cleaner assembly.

1. Using a flat screwdriver or a coin, unscrew and remove the left side cover 

(c)

 

from the generator enclosure.

2. Lift and remove the air cleaner body cover 

(d).

3. Remove the foam insert 

(d1)

 from the air cleaner body.

4. Rinse the foam insert with clean water. Gently squeeze out excess water (do not 

twist) and dry the foam insert thoroughly.

NOTICE:  

If the foam insert is damaged or heavily soiled, replace it.

5. Wipe the inside of the air cleaner body with a clean, dry cloth. 

6. Re-install the foam insert inside the air cleaner body.

7. Re-install the air cleaner body cover and the left side cover.
