TROUBLESHOOTING
All Models
Certain procedures in this section
require electrical test or measurements while power is
applied to the machine. Exercise extreme caution at
all times. If test points are not easily accessible,
disconnect power and follow lockout / tagout
procedures, attach test equipment and reapply power
to the test.
SYMPTOM POSSIBLE CAUSES
Compartment leaks water around door.
Steamer not level.
Drain line obstructed or not to an open gap drain.
Cold water condenser not operating properly.
Cold water condenser solenoid inoperative or plugged.
Lack of water supply.
Cold water condenser thermostat malfunction or needs
adjustment.
No power to cold water condenser solenoid.
Plugged spray nozzle.
Steam leaks around door.
Worn gasket - See DOOR ASSEMBLY.
Damaged gasket.
Drain line obstructed or not to an open drain.
Steam generated inside compartment when timer is off.
Steam supply solenoid not fully closing (clogged or dirty).
Replace the steam valve - see FILL AND COLD WATER
SOLENOID VALVES.
Timer contacts 1 & 3 closed.
Heat coming on without water in boiler (Dry firing).
Dirty water level probes (shorted to ground).
Retention of water in probe canister assembly.
Water level control malfunction.
Pressure relief valve opening or leaking.
Cycling pressure switch set to high. See .
Pressure relief valve malfunction.
Base unit will not heat or build pressure.
Check incoming voltage.
Boiler not filled - check fill solenoid for power, clogging or
malfunction.
Water Level Control malfunction.
Water too “pure” for probes to properly conduct
electricity.
Contactor malfunction (electric only).
Heating element inoperative (electric only).
Cycling pressure switch open or set too high. Unit is
cycling on high limit.
High limit thermostat open.
