4.2.2 Slit Lamp
Caution
Risk of personal injury or damage due to heavy slit
lamp
The slit lamp is heavy and consists of movable parts. If you do not handle the
slit lamp carefully when lifting it out of its packaging, it may slip out of your
hands and cause injury or get damaged.
f To take the slit lamp out of its packaging and position it on the table, firmly
grasp the slit lamp at its base and in the middle as indicated in the follow-
ing picture.

Positioning the slit lamp on the table:
1. Take the slit lamp out of its packaging (

Fig. 3 on page 20). Be aware that
the illumination and microscope arm are movable.
2.
Lower the slit lamp on the table.

Position the slit lamp wheels on the two rails (

Fig. 4 on page 21).

Make sure that each wheel engages with the same tooth of each rail. The
easiest way to do this is by positioning the wheels on the first (or last) tooth of
each rail (
