Licenses & Upgrades 

8.1.

 

About Licensing 

The functionality of the receiver depends on the hardware options fitted and 
the software options installed. Software options are enabled or disabled by 
means of ‘license keys’.  

A license key is a string of numbers which, when downloaded to a unit, will 
enable a specific feature or feature set.  

8.2.

 

Obtaining New Licenses 

You can add features to your unit by purchasing additional licenses from your 
local Vislink representative. 

NOTE:  Before ordering the license(s), you will need to provide the required 

ESN (Electronic Serial Numbers) and hardware serial numbers as 
requested on the webpage. See 

Section 6.4 Info 

to locate electronic 

serial numbers. Hardware serial numbers are located on the unit’s 
chassis. 

To verify which licenses are already installed and enabled on your unit see 

Section 6.4.2 License Information.

 

8.3.

 

Firmware Upgrades 

To upgrade the unit’s firmware, refer to the firmware release note for your unit. 
Firmware update information is available from the Vislink support portal: 

https://www.vislink.com/support-beyond-expectation/

 

The unit is upgraded via Ethernet connection by entering the unit IP address 
followed by the port number 8080 (e.g. 192.168.0.90:8080) and following the 
onscreen instructions (transfer upgrade file). 

 

WARNING: Power should not be removed whilst the upgrade is in process or 

your unit may be rendered inoperable. 

A complete upgrade will take approximately 40-45 minutes.
