TCP/IP

Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol

Transmission Control Protocol is a connection-oriented Internet protocol

requiring synchronization between the end units (source and destination) for

handshaking purposes for guaranteed message delivery that is transmitted

over the Internet Protocol, which is the low-level protocol of most internet

hardware

Volts Alternating Current

VBI

VBI, also known as the vertical blank or VBLANK, is the time difference

between the last line of one frame or file of a raster display and the beginning

of the next. During the VBI, the incoming data stream is not displayed on the

screen.

VITC

Vertical Interval Time Code

VITC is a form of SMPTE time code embedded as a pair of black and white

bars in a video signal. These lines are typically inserted into the vertical

blanking interval if the video signal.

WAN

Wide Area Network

A network provided by telephone and cell phone companies to provide data

communications to users over a large geographic area.
