The suit has been approved in accordance with the
LSA Code (International Life Saving Appliance code,
Resolution MSC.48(66)) and MSC 81(70) and
EN ISO 15027-1, performance level A.
PS4190 must be worn with an approved and compatible
lifejacket.
PS4191 is equipped with an integrated auxiliary means
of buoyancy and provides 100 N buoyancy when fully
inflated and should not be used with an additional
lifejacket.

GENERAL INFORMATION FOR PS4190 / PS4191
The suit is categorized as following types of suits:
• Insulated immersion suit
• Anti-exposure suit
• Constant wear suit (dry-type suit system)
The suit also complies with the European Council Directive
96/98/EC on Marine Equipment.
Important
Check that neck seal and wrist cuffs seal tightly to prevent
water penetration.
The buddy line may only be secured to suitable fixing
points such as D-ring, lifting strap etc.
2.
PERFORMANCE LEVEL
PS4190 / PS4191 is approved for use in water temperatures
above 2° C. Please notice that protection against cold
water depends on the insulation of the suit in correlation
with water temperature.
Warning
Estimated thermal protection time according to
performance level A is based on standard testing
conditions in accordance with ISO 15027-3. Other
environmental
conditions and personal characteristics may change
thermal protection time.
3.
REQUIRED UNDERCLOTHING
Always wear warm underwear, i.e. cotton underwear
(short-sleeved, short-legged), long-sleeved heavy cotton
shirt, cotton trousers, woollen socks – calf length, woollen
long sleeved pullover and appropriate footwear.
4.
TRAINING BEFORE USE
We recommend all users to participate in training with the
immersion suit in a swimming pool to ensure that the user
is familiar with the immersion suit.
5.
CLEANING (FIGURE 5)
See figure 1 or ship the immersion suit to a servicing
station. Find your nearest servicing station on
www.viking-life.com.
6.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
Store the suit in a cool, dark and dry place.

Warning
This suit system does not perform as a personal flotation
device and will not turn an unconscious wearer to a face
up position.
Protection against drowning may be achieved by the use
of an approved and compatible lifejacket.
7.
DONNING INSTRUCTION (FIGURE 7)
1. Remove hood and footwear.
2. Don the suit - legs first.
3. Zip the front zipper.
a) Put on the hood.
4. Clip the D-ring into the snap hook across the chest.
5. Don the lifejacket.
6. Don the gloves.
7. Jump into the water - feet first.
Turn onto your back.
If necessary switch on the locating light.
8.
MAINTENANCE, INSPECTION AND REPAIR
Maintenance is an important factor for your safety.
The suit should be checked at least once a month in
accordance with IMO MSC/Circ. 1047.
The suit should be inspected at an approved servicing
station at least every third year in accordance with
IMO MSC/Circ. 1114. Repairs should be carried out by an
approved servicing station. It the suit is wet frequently it
should be handed in for service once a year.
