Operator

Every well-skilled technical person can act as an operator. For safely using the BX510H, the

operator must have the following specific professional knowledge:

General knowledge of industrial safety procedures.

General knowledge of operating and functioning farm machinery.

Basic knowledge and skills regarding woodchipping machinery.

5.3

Workplace

The workplace comprises both sides of the woodchipper, approximately 2 m. Persons should never

be at the rear of the machine. See the figure for the Operator zone in this Chapter.

Emergency stop procedure; Safety bracket

The Safety Bracket operates the hydraulic controls via its ‘IN-OUT-STOP’ function.

You can use the safety handle around the top

of the infeed hopper to stop the infeed drum

movement.

Push the handle down to stop infeed drum
rotation.

Pull the handle up to start the infeed drum
rotation.

5.4

Preparation before operating

Inspect the whole BX510H visually and check all vital components like hoses and their
connections, lines, hoses and wires for damage, kinking, wear or dirt.

Visually inspect the condition of the engine and hydraulic pump system.

Check the engine oil level with the dipstick and add oil if needed.

Check the oil level on the tank's eyeglass. Add oil if needed.

Check that the working area is relatively smooth and free of obstacles.

Always maintain a full view of the working area during operation.

Keep animals far away from the machine.
