Brakes
After breaking in the disc brakes, check the gripping distance and
adjust it if necessary.
Adjust the brake lever in such a way that you can operate it safely
during the journey without taking your hand off the handlebars (see
Chapter
“Settings” on page 39)

Maintaining braking force
Diminished brake action in disc brakes due to the brake system
overheating is known as “fading”. When the temperature at the
point of contact between the brake pads and brake disc rises, e.g.
due to continuous braking, the brake power drops.
•
Avoid long periods of continuous braking.
•
Allow the brake pads to cool down regularly.
•
Do not use the bicycle if the brake power is reduced due to
warming.
•
Only use the bicycle again once full brake power is restored.
