Confirm that the alarm line ball valve is open.

Open the water supply main drain valve.
18.
Open the water supply’s main control valve slowly
until a steady flow of water flows from the open water
supply main drain valve.

When a steady flow of water occurs, close the water
supply main drain valve.
20.
Confirm that there is no leakage from the drip check
located in the alarm line’s piping.
20a.
If water is flowing from the drip check, close the
water supply’s main control valve, and start over at step 1.

• Take precautions when opening the water supply main control valve, since water
will flow from all open system valves.
Failure to do so could result in personal injury and property damage.
