Battery Care & Charging
IMPORTANT! ALWAYS connect the charger to the battery pack first,
and then plug it into the wall outlet. When unplugging, ALWAYS
unplug the charger from the wall outlet first, and then disconnect it
from the battery pack.
Note:
If an extension cord is used for the charger, use a heavy-duty extension cord (you
should never charge the mower in the open outdoors).
Charging method: 1
Charging with the Battery Pack removed from the Mower
(Remove the safety key first)
•
Remove the battery pack from the mower to recharge. Connect the charger plug to the
charger receptacle on the battery pack, (Fig 11a) and then plug the charger into a wall
outlet.
Note:
A red light on the battery pack will come on when charger is plugged into the battery.
ALWAYS double check that you have turned on the switch at the wall outlet. The Red light
does not indicate that the power is turned on, it indicates the charger is properly connected
to the battery pack.
•
Charging will take at least 48 hours initial charge, after each use 24 hours.
•
The charger is always warm to touch during the first 5 hours (approx) of a typical 24 hour
charge cycle. This is normal and not an indication of a problem.
Charging method: 2
Charging with the Battery Pack still in the Mower
(Remove the safety key first)
•
Lift the battery cover on the mower. Connect the charger plug to the charger receptacle
on the battery pack (Fig 11b), and then plug the charger into a wall outlet.
Note:
A red light on the battery pack will come on when charger is plugged into the battery.
ALWAYS double check that you have turned on the switch at the wall outlet. The Red light
does not indicate that the power is turned on, it indicates the charger is properly connected
to the battery pack.

charge cycle. This is normal and not an indication of a problem.
IMPORTANT! ALWAYS keep the battery pack in a dry place.
If mower is not in use for a while, it is also recommended to recharge
the battery pack for at least 48 hours once every three months, this
will contribute to a long battery life.
BATTERY MUST BE RECHARGED AFTER EACH USE!
A battery will last longer if charged as soon as it is used.
DO NOT DISCHARGE COMPLETELY AS THIS WILL DAMAGE THE BATTERY!
12
Under normal conditions the battery should run for approximately 30 to 50 minutes per
use. The length of time depends on the length, density and dampness of the grass. If you
generally intend to use your mower and trimmer for a long duration Victa recommends that
you purchase an extra battery.
A battery may last much longer if it is charged as soon as it starts to loose power and is not
discharged completely.
You should not try to coax a little more out of your battery.
