48 Using your Vertu phone
To change the profile settings:
1. From the Home screen, select Menu » Settings » Profiles .
2. Select a desired profile.
3. Select Personalise .
4. Use the [Joystick] key to change the settings as necessary.
5. Select Save .
Switching profiles
You can use either of the following procedures to switch profiles:
Quick operation using the [Power] key:
1. From the Home screen, briefly press the [Power] key.
2. Move the [Joystick] key upward or downward, and then select the
profile to be activated.
Switching from the profile settings screen:
1. From the Home screen, select Menu » Settings » Profiles .
2. Select a desired profile.
3. Select Activate .
Manner profile
To activate the Manner profile instantly, press and hold the [ # ] key from
the Home screen. Selecting the Manner profile will switch off the ringing
tone, message alert tone, keypad tone and other sounds. Your Vertu
phone will vibrate upon receiving phone calls or mails.
The following sounds are not switched off, even if the Manner profile is set:

Camera shutter sound
>
Video recording start/end sound and video playback sound
>
Sound/voice from left/right speakers when a hands-free call is in progress
>
Music playback sound from Media player
>
Sound effects from browser plug-ins
>
Alarm tone
Flight profile
The Flight profile allows you to deactivate all radio frequency functions.
With this profile, you can only use the functions that do not require
connection to the network.
When you enter a phone number on the Home screen and then press the
[Send] key while in the
Flight profile, a message is displayed asking if you
would like to exit the Flight profile to allow the phone to make a call. If you
would prefer to switch the profile and place a call, select Yes to proceed.

Tip: You can select Timed instead of Activate in Step 3 above, to set
a time for a specific profile (a profile other than Flight ) so that it is
conditionally activated on the phone during the specified timer period.
For example, you may want to activate the
Manner profile during an
important meeting, and then want to automatically resume the
General profile when the meeting is over.
Tip: Press and hold the [ # ] key from the Home screen to switch
(back) the profiles from Manner to General .
Tip: If you switch off the phone when the current profile is Flight and
then switch it on again, a message “ Activate flight profile? “ will
appear. To continue using the Flight profile, select Yes . (Selecting No
will enable the General profile.)
