Using your Vertu phone 41
You can change the Security code with the following procedure. To reset
the code, you will need to bring your Vertu phone to the Vertu Customer
Service, Vertu store or authorised Vertu dealer. Extreme care should be
taken so as not to forget your Security code.
To change Security code:
1. From the Home screen, select Menu » Settings » Security » Access
codes » Change security code .
2. Enter the current Security code and select OK .
3. Enter a new five to ten digit Security code and select OK .
4. Enter the new Security code again (for reconfirmation), and then
select OK .

A confirmation message appears, and then, the new Security code is enabled.
Locking the keypad
You can lock the keypad on your Vertu phone to prevent accidentally
dialling any numbers.
1. From the Home screen, press the [Joystick] key (Centre), then press
the [ * ] key within two seconds

A confirmation message appears, and the keypad is temporarily locked. is
displayed at the top of the Home screen, with Unlock shown at the bottom.
When you receive an incoming call, the keypad lock is automatically
suspended. When the call is ended, the keypad returns to the locked state.
Unlocking the keypad
You can unlock the keypad by pressing the [Joystick] key (Centre) and then
the [ * ] key within two seconds.
Security keyguard
By enabling the Security keyguard feature, you can make a Security code
entry necessary, each time the keypad is locked or you switch on your
Vertu phone. Since your Vertu phone cannot be used without a Security
code entry, this feature, if set, could be an effective prevention against
unauthorised use.
To enable the Security keyguard protection:
1. From the Home screen, select Menu » Settings » Phone » Security
keyguard » On .
2. Enter the Security code and select OK .
Typical Security keyguard use case example:
1. From the Home screen, press the [Joystick] key (Centre), then press
the [ * ] key within two seconds.

The keypad lock is activated.
2. To unlock the keypad, press the [Joystick] key (Centre), and then press
the [ * ] key within two seconds again. Since the Security keyguard
feature has been set, the Security code input screen appears. Enter the
Security code to actually unlock the keypad.
Tip: You can also lock the keypad using the following procedure:
> From the Home screen, briefly press the [Power] key to display
the Profiles list. Press the [Joystick] key (Up) and select
Lock
keypad from the list.
Tip: You can use the following procedure to enable the Automatic
keyguard feature to automatically lock the keypad when there is no
key operation on the Home screen for a specified period of time.
1. From the Home screen, select Menu » Settings » Phone »
Automatic keyguard » On .
2. Enter the duration of inactivity (ranging from 5 seconds to 60
minutes) before automatically locking the keypad, and select OK .
