Changing the Main Menu icon layout
You can rearrange the layout of the twelve menu icons displayed in the Main
Menu in any order that pleases you. For example, when your Vertu phone
leaves our workshop, the
Settings menu icon appears at the bottom right,
but if you find that you use it frequently, you can move it to the centre of the
second row to make it easier to find.
You can customise the icon layout using the following procedure.
1. From the Home screen, select Menu to display the Main Menu.
2. Select Options » Organise .
3. Move the cursor to the menu icon whose position you want to change,
and select Move .
4. Using the [Joystick] key, move the cursor to the new desired position.
5. Select OK .
6. To change the position of other icons as well, repeat Steps 3 to 5 as
needed.
7. When all changes are complete, select Done » Yes .
Shortcuts assigned to the [Selection] keys
When your Vertu phone leaves our workshop, the following shortcuts have
been assigned to the left and right [Selection] keys (page 17). You can
quickly launch the relevant function simply by pressing the corresponding
key from the Home screen.
These shortcuts can be customised with the following procedure.
1. From the Home screen, select Menu » Settings » My shortcuts » Left
selection key or Right selection key .
2. From the list shown, select a new shortcut function to assign to the left
or right [Selection] key you chose in Step 1.
Shortcuts assigned to the [Joystick] key
In addition to the shortcuts assigned to the [Selection] keys, your Vertu phone
also has a set of pre-assigned shortcuts to each direction (Up, Down, Left and
Right) of the [Joystick] key (page 17). When it leaves our workshop, the
following functions have been assigned to each direction.
The shortcut assigned to the [Joystick] key (Up) is assumed to be used
exclusively for starting the Vertu Feeds application (page 31), so it cannot
be customised. However, the shortcuts assigned to other directions (Down,
Left and Right) can be customised using the "The Setup wizard (Initial
settings)" (page 24) or by using one of the following procedures:
Changing shortcuts using the My shortcuts setting menu:
1. From the Home screen, select Menu » Settings » My shortcuts »
Navigation key .
2. Select one of the following, and then select a new shortcut from the
displayed list.

T : Select this option to assign a new shortcut for the [Joystick] key (Down).
>
W : Select this option to assign a new shortcut for the [Joystick] key (Left).
>
X : Select this option to assign a new shortcut for the [Joystick] key (Right).
Opening a shortcut selection list directly from the Home screen:
1. From the Home screen, press and hold either the Down, Left or Right
direction of the [Joystick] key.
2. Select a new shortcut from the displayed list
[Selection] keys (Left)
