6 SENSOR
The Vertiv™ WSN FLEX sensor is a LoRa®-enabled wireless temperature and humidity sensor providing an ultra low power,
long-range solution for your wireless sensor needs.
The Vertiv WSNFLEX sensor incorporates long-range LoRa® wireless radio technology which combines ultra long range
spread spectrum communications with high interference immunity while minimizing power consumption.
6.1 Sensor Features
• Accurate temperature and humidity sensing (self-calibrating), +/- 0.3° C, +/- 2% relative humidity.
• Dynamic power throttling for optimizing performance and battery life.
• Cable-free sensor to gateway auto-discovery.
• Programmable push button I/O interface located on front of sensor enclosure.
• Automatic power source switching between available power sources for no downtime.
• The micro USB port can provide constant power for the sensor, if needed.
• The expansion battery pack provides extended sensor battery life.
• Bidirectional communication between sensor and gateway.
• Custom sensor enclosure with sensor element airflow optimization.
• Configurable sensor polling rates.
• The built-in internal batteries provide support for the smaller sensor footprint when frequent data updates are
not needed.
• Motion detection using built-in accelerometer. Wake immediately to transmit.
• Status LED lights. Red, blue, and green are used to indicate user notifications. When LED lights are lit
individually, each color indicates the following. Refer to Table 6.1 below.

• The FLEXio programmable I/O interface provides two channel user configurable I/O lines with integrated,
spring loaded, I/O terminals. The I/O lines can be programmed as

• Micro USB port firmware upgrades.
• Locate Sensor Mode. Users can select a sensor they wish to find and the sensor will flash all three LEDs and
beep for an entire sensor update duration. When the sensor is located, it can be silenced through the press of a
button.
