7.2 Adding Sensors to the Network
After the gateway system is configured, sensors can be added to the network using the WSNConnect feature. This feature
automates all of the network join requirements so to avoid having to manually enter sensor data into the gateway before it
will join the network.
To add sensors, follow this procedure:
1. Navigate to the Devices web page. Refer to Figure 7.1 on page 27.
2. Click the WSNConnect slide bar to turn the feature on.
3. When the WSNConnect feature is on, install the batteries in a sensor or press the V button on the front of the
sensor to start the join process.
4. The Devices web page will refresh when the gateway detects a new sensor join request.

Sensors are automatically named using the next sequential number available.
7.2.1 Using the Gateway in Conjunction with a Building Management System
If the gateway is to be used in conjunction with a BMS, the appropriate protocol must be enabled. To accomplish this,
navigate to Systems—BMS. See Figure 7.5 on the next page.
