4. To focus on a near object, move the focus adjustment ring to the left (Near mark).
5. To focus on a far object, move the focus adjustment ring to the right (Far mark).
6. Fasten the focus locking screw.
To adjust the brightness of the lens:
1. To darken the image, turn the iris level screw counterclockwise, towards L (low).
2. To brighten the image, turn the iris level screw clockwise, towards H (high).
Performing White Spot Correction
As a general characteristic of charge coupled devices (CCDs), white spots may appear on
the image. To reduce this phenomenon, the S2700e camera is equipped with a white spot
correction feature. You can correct up to 32 white spots at a time. There is no guarantee
that all white spots will be corrected. Furthermore, since correction is performed using the
information of surrounding pixels, some data may be lost if the image is highly detailed.
The result of white spot correction is maintained until you re-execute the procedure.
To correct white spots:
1. Power the camera then wait for at least 30 minutes.
2. Remove the dome cover and the inner dome for the S2700e-VR and S2700eP-VR.
3. Cover the lens surface (for example, with a black sheet of paper) so that light does not
enter the lens.
Note: Typically, you do not need to adjust the brightness of the lens.
Do not adjust brightness within 30 seconds after pressing the focus adjustment
button.
Note: If the AGC Mode parameter in the web interface (see page 48) is set to On,
lowering the brightness will have no impact on the image since the video sensor
will automatically compensate.
