Destination input menu

Select “Dest. input” in the
“NAVIGATION” menu.
The “Dest. input” menu provides the following options for entering a destination:

New dest.
: Entering a destination via the name of the town or postcode. A street,
house number or crossing can also be entered.
❑
Load address
: Loading a destination address stored in the address book.
The programmable addresses “Home” and “Work”, the address books “Private”
and “Business” and, under “History”, the last used destinations are available.

Spec. dest.
: Loading a specific facility (hotel, restaurant, petrol station etc.) which is
saved on the map CD.
❑
Travel info*
: Searching for destinations in travel guide information using a search
engine (various search criteria and categories, depending on the travel guide).
❑
GPS input
: Entering a destination by means of GPS co-ordinates (geographic latitude
and longitude).

Destination input functions via post codes, QXS (Quick Access) and travel info is only
supported if the map CD is inserted.
* Relevant C-IQ products must be activated individually if required.
Entering a new destination

Entering town names or postcodes

Select “New dest.” in the
“DESTINATION INPUT” menu.
☞
Select “City/postc.” to enter a new
city name or postal code via the
“typewriter”.

Enter the town or the postcode.

You can select an entry from the list
(in the lower section of the screen) even if you have not yet entered all the data.

If several database entries have the same name, the cursor automatically moves to
the list. Select the required entry from the list.
☞
Confirm your selection with “OK”.
✎
Destination input via postcodes is not supported by all map CDs.
