5.2.4 Alert Boxes (Area Noted for Attention)
The Area Noted for Attention (ARENA) boxes typically consist of rectangles indicating the
runways and at least one rectangle at the end of runways. One box represents 1 nautical
mile, and there can be the maximum of 3 boxes at the end of each runway. The amount of
the ARENA boxes depends on the extend of the measurement grid, that is, the location and
amount of the wind sites.
When there is a windshear alert the ARENA box starts blinking with a configurable color.
The alerts blink when triggered until acknowledged. When the alert is acknowledged, the
blinking stops, but the alert color remains on until the alert situation is over. If another alert
is issued for the same runway, the blinking starts again.
A yellow frame around boxes indicates a possible windshear alert outside of the network.

Name Description
ACK Click to acknowledge the alarms and to stop the alarm sound and blinking. The
alarm color remains on until the situation is over, or the next alert is issued for the
runway.
Sound / Mute Click to select if sound alarm is on or off.

Test Click to turn on all alarms to simulate the alarm function.
