Appendix D – JSD-100 Accessories
AES RJ45 Adapters for various servers
The JSD-100 can use CAT5 cable with RJ45 connectors to carry AES audio from the digital cinema server to the JSD-
100. Use of CAT5 cabling reduces cost and simplifies the installation. EBU Tech. 3250-E, third edition, states that
AES/EBU may be carried over CAT5 cable for 400 meters.
To simplify the use of CAT5 cable for AES wiring, USL makes the following adapters available. These plug into the
DB25 connector on the server. CAT5 cables can then be run to the JSD-100.
Dolby DSS-200
USL JSD-RJF8
Adapter has DB25F wired with DMA-8 pin out and 2 RJ-45 jacks.
Doremi DCP2000
USL JSD-RJMI
Adapter has DB25M wired as per SMPTE EG DC28.307-3103B DRAFT (2004, never adopted, same pin out as JSD-
100 DB25) and 2 RJ-45 jacks.
GDC IMB (25 pin D)
USL JSD-RJMI
Adapter has DB25M wired as per SMPTE EG DC28.307-3103B DRAFT (2004, never adopted, same pin out as JSD-
100 DB25) and 2 RJ-45 jacks.
Sony SRXR320P
USL JSD-RJM8
Adapter has DB25M wired with DMA-8 pin out and 2 RJ-45 jacks.
JSDV-100 Remote Volume Control
The JSDV-100 remote volume control is connected to the JSD-100 using CAT5 cable over the USL-LINK. Several
controls can be cascaded on one cable. The JSDV-100 includes a digital display showing the current main fader
level and a knob to adjust the main fader level. The display can be configured to blank after a specified number of
seconds or to be illuminated continuously. The JSDV-100 is typically located in the auditorium. See Section 9 of
this manual for more information on the JSDV-100.
MMP-10
Microphone multiplexer system to drive JSD-100 RTA with four multiplexed microphones as per SMPTE 202-2010
section A.4a.
DAT-100
DAT-100 Digital Audio Generator generates tone, voice, and pink noise signals on 16 AES channels. The DAT-100
can be used to adjust the JSD-100 bypass crossovers.
VP-1
Vent panel to fill the space and provide ventilation above and below the JSD-100.
