Never shred the following: - Hardened metal whatsoever
- Rocks and stones
- Hardened adhesive substance

Materials contaminated with adhesives

Explosives and highly flammable substances

The operating company must fit an appropriate safety device, which meets the industrial health and
safety regulations, to prevent anyone from reaching into the cutting system.
Insufficient material removal leading to damage or injury releases UNTHA from all liability for
damages!
If no device has been installed for material removal, the shredded material may not build a backlog
to the exit screen.
If the warn signal sounded (signal horn), all persons had to leave the danger area, to be not
endangered by the automatic starting machine.
9. Operation
9.1 Safety guidelines
Before starting up, the following must be checked in the following order:
•
Safety structures and mechanisms must be in perfect working order!
•
Protective covers and mechanisms must be in place correctly and in perfect working order!
•
All operation critical substances (e.g. grease, coolant, cooling fluids, lubricant etc.) must be filled
up!
•
No person may enter the danger zone of the machine on starting up!
•
Protective clothing must be worn!
•
Machines with a lid on the hopper may only be filled to a maximum fill level of 70% to avoid
damage to the lid and the machine during the shredding process.
•
The machine may only be operated by qualified and authorized personnel (see chapter 4.5)!
9.2 What may not be shredded?
Only materials for which the machine was designed and constructed may be shredded (see chapter
2.1)!
9.3 Material removal
•
The shredded material must leave the exit screen continuously and evenly on the bottom.
•
The operator of the machine is responsible for treat and cleaning the exit screen from material
blockages.
•
The exit screen must be cleaned periodically. (see maintenance overview)
