Start-up of ETL
4.1
Precautions to be followed for a correct installation and for a valid data
acquisition
In order to get valid data on air quality from the ETL, please follow the below instructions:
Use ETL only outdoor.
If possible, use a voltage stabilizer or better an UPS to power the ETL, in this way the
power is without fluctuations and the ETL is protected by black out (if the ETL is
switched OFF an ON without using its power switch the sensors can be damaged or can
lose the calibration settings).
For a better performance, the ETL should be power on as soon as possible after receipt
(so the sensors can reach the operating temperature: sensors need a stabilization period
of before giving correct values).
Data are quite stable after 24-48 hours of working, the complete stability is reached
after 3 weeks.
Take care to install the ETL in a proper place where there aren't substances that can
emit interferences (especially in summer), we suggest to install ETL at 2,5 m. height.
Don't use glue, silicone or painting near sensors.
Be careful when comparing data, especially for time scale and unit of measure.
If you are making comparison test between ETL and an AQM station, be careful to
install the sensors/ETL at the same level and as close as possible to the AQM station’s air
sampling probe.
