INTRODUCTION
USER MANUAL — 74-36121-ENG R2
21
• If electrical equipment is connected to the auxiliary outlet or USB port, ensure that any electrical device
introduced within the patient vicinity is not causing electrical interferences. The connected electrical
equipment could result in power leads or radiation emitting devices closer to the patient (e.g. computer
charger, mobile phone) and their interference shall be managed to avoid biased diagnostics (e.g. ECG
monitors) or limited treatment efficiency (e.g. pacemakers).
•
The use of accessories, transducers and cables other than those specified, with the exception of transducers
and cables sold by the manufacturer of the medical electrical equipment or medical electrical system as
replacement parts for internal components, may result in increased emissions or decreased immunity of
the medical electrical equipment or medical electrical system.
• The medical electrical equipment or medical electrical system should not be used adjacent to or stacked
with other equipment and that if adjacent or stacked use is necessary, the medical electrical equipment or
medical electrical system should be observed to verify normal operation in the configuration in which it will
be used.
• Do not use the permanently attached head and foot boards in intensive and critical care environments or
acute care environments. Use of permanently attached head and foot boards does not allow immediate
and unimpeded access to the patient from the head end of the medical bed in emergency situations.
Patient’s medical condition must not require immediate access for procedures (e.g. intubation).
•
Always ensure that the accessories installed on the bed are adequate for the patient’s condition and would
not generate a risk in case of misuse by the patient.
• Always ensure that usage of a power cord with reduced length is restricted only to patients with an
evaluated medical condition that requires extreme protection measures. Plug the power cord to a hospital
grade power outlet without the usage of an extension cord.
• Always ensure that usage of a bed without siderails is restricted only to patients with an evaluated medical
condition that requires extreme protection measures. Do not use the bed without siderails to transport a
patient between rooms. A bed without siderails is not intended for use with infants. If not avoided, situation
could result in increased risk of falls and injuries.
• The bed contains lead, lead compounds and other chemicals which are known to the state of California to
cause cancer and/or birth defects or other reproductive harms. Refer to the Disposal and recycling section
from the maintenance manual for proper disposal of the batteries when replacing a battery from the bed.
• The precision of the integrated scale system is of 0.5 kg/1.1 lb. The caregivers must consider this precision
and must not use the scale system to determine medication dosage.
•
System shall be connected to a proper UL1069 certified system to transmit nurse call requests and priority
signals.
ATTENTION
• Patient monitoring and patient-authorized bed functionalities are the responsibility of the facility.
• Always ensure to unplug power cord from power outlet prior to moving bed. If situation is not avoided,
damages to bed and/or to environment could occur.
• Always ensure proper power cord condition prior to plugging it into power outlet.
• Always ensure that when routing cables from other equipment or hoists in the bed, precautions are taken
to avoid them from being pinched between parts of the bed.
