Step 1, cont'd:
c.
Replace the components on the steering tube
above the head tube.
Be sure they go on in the
original order
, leaving off the Top Cap.
d.
Lower the handlebar stem onto the steering
tube with handlebars facing forwards and the
grip on the left-hand side.
e.
Place the Top Cap in the top of the steering
tube, above the handlebar stem. Fasten the bolt
using a 5mm Allen Key until there is no lateral
movement in the bearing but the forks can still
turn freely.
f.
Line up the handlebars with the forks and fasten
the stem bolts to finger-tight. Final alignment will
be done after the wheels are installed.
Step 2: Handlebars
a.
Slide the throttle grip onto the right-hand side of
the handlebar, ensuring the handlebar does not
touch the end face of the grip.
Tighten the two fastening screws on the top
of the throttle, ensuring the throttle actuates
smoothly and springs back to its original position
when released.
b.
Attach the two brake levers onto the handlebars,
ensuring both levers are mounted an equal
distance from the end of each bar.
Pivot the levers so that when on the bike
holding the grips, your wrists are in line with
your forearm. The angle of the throttle may need
adjusting to ensure the right-hand brake lever
can be actuated without touching the throttle.
c.
Using four M5 x 30mm screws, fasten the two
parts of the headlight clamp to the centre of
the handlebar.
Tip:
To keep your 2×2 looking its best, align the
logos on the two parts of the clamps to face the
same way.
