GTN Pin 7 is shown as example for output on RS-232 Out 2. Pins 5, 6, or 8 can be used as alternates.
After wiring is complete configure the GTN to send ADS-B+ to Echo as follows:
To access configuration mode, remove power from the GTN. With the GTN turned off (circuit
breaker pulled), touch and hold the
HOME
key and reapply power to the GTN (push in the
circuit breaker). Release the
HOME
key when the display activates and the name
‘Garmin’
appears fully lit on the screen. While in configuration mode, pages can be selected by touching
the desired key on the display. Some pages may require page scrolling to view all of the
information and keys on the page. This can be done by touching the screen and dragging the
page in the desired direction, or by touching the
Up
or
Down
keys.
Startup the GTN in Configuration Mode
Tap RS232
Tap the Output that matches the GTN pin EchoUAT is wired to, example pin 7= Output 2
Select ADS-B+ for the Output Value. If two entries are available for ADS-B+ choose ADS-B+
format 1.
Press Back to return to the configuration mode home screen.
Power the GTN Off and then On
Configure the EchoUAT application to receive ADS-B+ data from the GTN.
