7. MILL STERILIZATION PROCEDURES
WARNING:
sterilize using only steam autoclave.
DO NOT use any other sterilizaTon method (dry heat, irradiaTon, ethylene oxide, gas, low
temperature plasma etc.).
WARNING:
infecTons control – parts which can be sterilized – thoroughly clean before
sterilizaTon.
To avoid bacteria or virus infecTons clean and sterilize aqer each session:
•
Open the MILL.
•
Disassemble the mill into its parts as shown in the figure (Fig.38).
•
Clean and disinfect using a damp cloth and an enzymaTc detergent soluTon (pH 6-9) and, if
necessary, with a non-aggressive neutral pH (pH7) disinfectant soluTon.
•
Clean the MILL surface by delicately scrubbing with a soq, nylon brush - paying parTcular
aWenTon to cuwng cone areas.
•
Rinse accurately with running water to eliminate any detergent residue.
•
Dry all MILL parts.
•
Seal separately in single-use sachet.
•
Sterilize the MILL in steam autoclave as indicated.
Steam sterilizaTon processes must be completed in accordance with the specificaTons set out
below:
•
SterilizaTon temperature 121°C, sterilizaTon Tme 16 minutes. AlternaTvely it is possible to
use the sterilzaTon Tme of 5-7 minutes at 134°C.
All sterilizaTon steps must be carried out by the operator in compliance with UNI EN ISO
17665-1:2007, UNI EN ISO 556-1:2002 and ANSI/AAMI ST:46:2002.
