6. Remove the hook and remove the SM

separation pulley from the axle.

*: Confirm that the nipping between the

SM feed roller and SM separation roller
is released.

7. Clean or replace the SM forwarding pul-

ley, SM paper feed pulley and SM sepa-
ration pulley.

8. Refit the SM forwarding pulley, SM

paper feed pulley and SM separation
pulley to the SM primary paper feed
unit.

*: Make sure that the collars are properly

installed by checking its color.
SM forwarding pulley (Collar is white.)
SM paper feed pulley (Collar is white.)
SM separation pulley (Collar is black.)

9. When the SM forwarding pulley, SM

paper feed pulley or SM separation pul-
ley is replaced, perform maintenance
mode U903 (clearing the jam counter)
(see page 1-3-29).

sette - Counter Clear of U251 (Mainte-
nance counter limits/clear) (see page 1-
