4 Characteristics of the SSI-BOX (connection of linear encoders)
Note
An encoder exchange only do when the voltage is switched off.
4.1 SSI-BOX PNO identification number
The SSI-BOX has the PNO ID number AAAB (hex). This number is reserved and filed
with the PNO.
4.2 Type file / device master file
The type files used with the SSI-BOX have the filename "TRSS00XX.200" and the
device master file which is used has the filename " TR09_SSI.GSD".
4.3 Start-up on PROFIBUS
When started up, the SSI-BOX has the status 'Baud search'. After detecting the Baud
rate, it switches to the status WAIT_PRM and waits for the parameterization data from
the DP master. Parameterization takes place automatically during the start-up phase
of the DP master. The parameters transferred to the SSI-BOX are the
count
direction
and the
measuring units per meter
(see PNO encoder profile for more
details). After a successful transmission of formally correct parameterization data, the
SSI-BOX switches to the status WAIT_CFG. The PROFIBUS master then sends a
configuration byte in order to define the number of inputs and outputs. If the
configuration byte is correct, the SSI-BOX switches to the status DATA_EX.
