7.8 DI/DO-Function: Speed Observation (DO)
– Parameter
Index 0x0082: Speed Observation Control
7.8.1
Activates or deactivates the Speed Observation on the DI/DO pin of the device plug (note the device-
specific pin assignment). If the Speed Observation is active, a low level is output via the DI/DO pin
when exceeding or falling below the limit values set in "Index 0x0083: Speed Observation Lower Limit"
and "Index 0x0084: Speed Observation Upper Limit". If the speed is within limits, the DI/DO pin is high
by default.

The Speed Observation function and its limits are stored directly in the measuring
system. This means that the previously set values are active again immediately after
switching off/on the power supply.
Speed Observation Limits
7.8.2
Using the parameters 0x0083 and 0x0084 described below, the limits for the Speed Observation
function can be set.
The speed should not be set as an absolute value, it must be set with normal
significance and sign.
-> motion against set positive Count Direction (Index 0x0046)
Example
Desired limits:
- Speed Observation against positive count direction = 100
- Speed Observation in positive count direction = 50
Settings:
- Index 0x0083 Speed Observation Lower Limit = -100
- Index 0x0084 Speed Observation Upper Limit = 50
