Chapter 1: Introduction
TV front and side panel controls and connections
Models 40SL412U, 46SL412U, 55SL412U, and 55S41U are used in this manual for illustration purposes.

1 Remote
sensor
— Point the remote control
toward this remote sensor (
“Remote control
effective range” on page 21).
2 Touch
Sensor
— Touch Sensor controls are only
available when touched.
With the exception of the POWER key, the
Touch Sensor window is activated with the first
touch. Subsequent touches operate the controls
as described.
- POWER

To turn the TV on and off.
- VOL +-
— These buttons adjust the volume
level. When a menu is on-screen, these buttons
function as left/right menu navigation buttons.
- CH
ST
— When no menu is on-screen, these
buttons change the channel (programmed
channels only;
page 26). When a menu is
on-screen, these buttons function as up/down
menu navigation buttons.
- MENU(OK)
— To access the menu system (
pages 23–24). When a menu is on-screen,
the
MENU
button on the TV’s control panel
functions as the
OK
button.
- INPUT (EXIT)
— To change the source you are
viewing. When a menu is on-screen, the
INPUT
button on the TV’s control panel functions as
the
EXIT
button.
3 Touch Sensor window
— Touch Sensor window
indicates the function of the touch sensor. This
window doesn’t appear until you activate the
Touch Sensor.
