A background spectrum appears in the Collect Sample window.
The spectrum is updated as more data are collected. When all the
data have been collected, a message appears asking you to
prepare to collect the sample spectrum:

9. Install the thin film polystyrene sample labeled “Secondary

Polystyrene Standard: 1.5 mil Polystyrene” through the
sliding door.

If the spectrometer purged, allow 1 minute for the purge to reach
equilibrium before continuing to the next step.
